Role-Playing Resources
Helping Players with Navigating the Rules
There are a few apps and webpages that may help in navigating 5e:
Download this app (only the free version is necessary) and then update the info through the links in the app to the forum links for 5e to get all the rules currently available for all Races, Classes, Spells, Feats, Items, and more.

D&D Beyond is the Official page of online resources and can be very helpful, though limited in some places as specific rules are only posted for the open license parts of the game.

This Wiki has good info but the most helpful part of it I found not replicated elsewhere is a a pretty comprehensive list of backgrounds:

This app is a combat resource. It is simple, but clearly explains what you can do in a combat round, how conditions work, and more.

For characters with spellcasting ability, it can help to make spell cards for what you can do so you don't have to look up spell effects every time you are casting. This webpage takes a little practice to use but it can be used to create a custom spellbook or set of spell cards you can then print.
Dice are fun but here is a great and simple to use dice app...it even allows you to create and roll a die with a custom number of sides. The free version has everything you need.

Lastly, this page has the most comprehensive list of resources for either running or playing 5e that I have come across. When you are board and have lots of time to explore, check it out:
