The Weevil

Let me see, where did I leave off . . . . Ahh yes, the fight with the Frost Giant and the largest gathering of Ogres and Goblins I think we have ever faced. The Ogres had catapults and were launching Goblins at the Inn. A few Hobgoblins were in the mix. So we did what we always do, we settled in for a fight. It didn't take long before three Fire Giants showed up. They bellowed angry words at the Frost Giant. It seems the Frost Giant was there for the Weevil (we think - it was either the Weevil or Siroc). And the Fire Giants were willing to fight to get their hands on him.

Monster Note: Fire Giants: They swung greatswords. One carried two spiked shields. Not quite as tall as the Frost Giant, but close. Though I didn't see an immunity to fire, I made an educated guess and threw cold at them. It worked, but they didn't seem especially susceptible to cold.

The Fire Giants pretty much ignored us and focused on the Frost Giant and his contingent. It helped clear the field. Then they came after us. We cleaned up. Afterwards, we now have the thumbs of 3 Fire Giants and one more Frost Giant.

And guess what? The Weevil ran out the back of the Inn while the fight was going on.

Stellara and I stayed at the Inn while the others ran and flew to try to catch him.

Well, they found him. But he was tied up in a sack being carried by Werewolves.

I'll keep the details short: the leader - the alpha?- of these werewolves is called Black Root and she wants the Weevil.

We are now in her grove, the Grove of the Black Root. I can say it's a little creepy in here. There is a statue of an elf with a pained expression on her face. We are worried, it looks more like someone who was petrified - turned to stone - than a carved statue. It could be Aerglas, Lifferlas' elf friend. The trees bent inward when Black Root showed interest in Winter's staff as if they also shared her curiosity.

Then there are the werewolves themselves. When they turn back into their humanoid form, they are real people - elves, half elves, humans. We have to be careful, for they all became werewolves after getting attacked and bitten by one.

Black Root wants the Weevil because he stole a gem from her. Apparently, its important. The Weevil says he fenced it in Luskan. I could determine he was telling the truth, although if we bring him with us, he plans on escaping as soon as possible.

She claims we can keep him if we get her the gem back.

We are trying to decide what to do as a write this.

And there is the "statue" of Aerglas to consider . . .
