Grudd Haug

I can't get a Message through to Ilandra. I tried. Twice.

We repaired the drawbridge into Nightstone so it can be drawn up for safety. And we built a stronger saferoom in the basement of the Inn for Montgomery and the people left there.

Trella and Tyaa have been tracking the giants northeast, following the River Dessarin. This is our second night on the road. I have Messaged Zina and she stated 20 people had been taken from the town and only 16 of them are left. She's in a building with giants and bugbear guards. We have to hurry.

Last night we were attacked in the middle of the night! Alice was there and she brought Tashlyn (War of the Four Horsemen) with her. We killed Tashlyn, but when she died, she exploded!! I was knocked unconscious but the others now tell me all Alice seemed to care about was grabbing the Book of Davil. Does she not know he is no longer a part of the book? Or did she never know that he was a part of the book and wants it for some other reason? Well, after a fierce fight, Alice was killed. Then she dissolved. Remember when we learned that liches create something called a phylactery? She'll be back.

It's the middle of the third day and we have come to Grudd Haug. It looks as though the Hill Giants have built a dam on the river, then built a building or long house on top of the dam. With Trella sneaking around we were able to get the remaining people out. They swam out a stream of water running through the bottom of the long house.

There are only ten of them left. Trella is with them downstream.

We now have to decide if we run or if we attack the giants and bugbears while they are still inside their fortress.

I think I know the answer to that one . . . .
